Senate to Consider Short-Term Funding Measure

Senate to Consider Short-Term Funding Measure

The Senate is expected to hold a final vote on Wednesday, September 30, to pass a short-term funding stopgap measure (H.R.8319) that was cleared by the House last week. This vote comes just ahead FY2020 government funding ending and the expiration of the 2015 surface transportation authorization (FAST Act).

The House-passed Continuing Resolution (H.R.8319) would fund the government through December 11 and also contains a one-year extension of funding for surface transportation.

The measure primarily reflects bipartisan agreement to avert a government shutdown and is expected to be enacted into law.
