IWLA Spotlights Rail Demurrage Issue in Letters to New STB members

IWLA sent letters of congratulation to recently sworn-in Surface Transportation Board (STB) members, Robert Primus and Michelle Schultz, on January 15. In the letters, IWLA highlighted the importance of third party logistics (3PL) warehouse operations and provided background regarding the role of 3PLs within the supply chain.

The letters also noted the importance of the STB continuing its work to find solutions related to unreasonable rail demurrage and accessorial charges. IWLA has been firmly advocating for a resolution on the demurrage issue that reflects reasonableness and fairness for warehouses as shippers and receivers.
