Cliff Otto, Lakeland-based Logistics CEO, Elected to IWLA Chairman of the Board

Cliff Otto, Lakeland-based Logistics CEO,
Elected to IWLA Chairman of the Board

April 3, 2017 (DES PLAINES, Ill.) – Members of the International Warehouse Logistics Association elected Clifford K. Otto, CEO of Saddle Creek Logistics Services, headquartered in Lakeland, Fla., as the 2017-2018 chairman during the 2017 IWLA Convention & Expo. The event was March 19-21 in Palm Springs, Calif.  

Otto previously served as the association’s vice chairman and 2017 IWLA Convention Planning Committee chairman. He succeeds Mark DeFabis, CEO, Integrated Distribution Services, Inc., based in Plainfield, Ind., who becomes IWLA immediate past chairman. DeFabis will remain a member of the IWLA Executive Committee for 2017-2018.

IWLA members also elected board officers:

  • Frank Anderson, vice president of RBW Logistics, in Augusta, Ga., ascends to vice chairman and chairman-elect from the treasurer position;
  • Brett Mears, president of Palmer Logistics, in Houston, Texas moves to treasurer from secretary; and
  • Leslie Ajlouny, vice president of business development, Evans Distribution Systems, in Melvindale, Mich., will serve as the new IWLA secretary.

As CEO of Saddle Creek, Otto is responsible for directing the company’s business including warehousing, omnichannel fulfillment, transportation, and packaging services. He joined Saddle Creek in the fall of 2001. Prior to joining Saddle Creek, Cliff spent 11 years with CHEP USA where he was senior vice president for North American sales, after serving as general manager of CHEP’s Midwest region from the launch of the US business in 1990. Preceding CHEP, Mr. Otto served in various executive management roles in logistics and finance with Baxter Healthcare and American Can Co. Otto has held several leadership roles with various grocery industry associations, the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, and served as the national President of WERC. He holds a BS degree from the University of Kansas and a MBA from the University of Maryland.

Otto will remain IWLA chairman through the 2018 IWLA Convention & Expo, March 11-13, 2018, in Tampa, Fla.
