Protecting the vital interests of our members is the
foundation of our government affairs department. IWLA works with members and
industry groups to achieve positive outcomes on public policy initiative before
legislative and regulatory agencies. Through coalitions and our members we
build support for our positions.
 We retain a lobbyist in Washington, D.C. and promote public policy that
enhances our members’ ability to compete on a level playing field while
protecting members from costly regulations that could cripple their business.
We have worked effectively to update the Uniform Commercial Code. We have
developed an alliance with OSHA to educate members about worker safety.
