Pennsylvania Warehouse Owner Honored with
Jock Menzies IWLA Distinguished Service Award
March 18, 2015 (DES PLAINES, Ill.) – IWLA, the resource for warehouse logistics, recently awarded the 2015 Jock Menzies IWLA Distinguished Service & Leadership Award to Paul Delp, president & CEO of Lansdale Warehouse Co Inc., based in Lansdale, Pa. Delp received the award among his industry peers during the International Warehouse Logistics Association annual business meeting March 10, 2015, in Savannah, Ga. The meeting was part of the larger 2015 IWLA Convention & Expo.
The IWLA Jock Menzies Distinguished Service Award is one of the warehousing industry’s highest honors. It recognizes outstanding leadership and service to the warehouse logistics industry and to IWLA, the industry’s trade association.
“Paul Delp has given back to the industry and the association for many years, serving on the IWLA Board and as c0-chairman of the IWLA Transportation Advisory Council with fellow honoree Gary Minardi of San Jose Distribution Services,” says IWLA Chairman of the Board Rob Doyle, CWLP, vice president of business development, Commercial Warehousing. “His dedication of time and energy toward the improving the rights of rail-served third-party warehouses is deserving of recognition.”
Delp, always involved in warehouse/rail issues, was integral during the industry’s advocacy before the U.S. Surface Transportation Board regarding Class I railroads and demurrage charges at drop-off points. “Paul has been a dedicated leader and advocate against the demurrage issue and continues to support IWLA’s decade-long effort,” Doyle says.
Delp was also recognized for his esteemed business acumen. Lansdale boasts more than 600,000 square feet of warehousing space operated under a comprehensive warehouse management system and a documented quality system resulting in certification to ISO9001. The company’s success, combined with controlled growth, is directly attributed to its business philosophy where employees are treated with the same respect as customers – both are needed to succeed.
The DSA award, first bestowed in 1996, was dedicated in 2014 to T. “Jock” Menzies III, co-founder and former president of the American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN), who passed away in 2013.
