As president and chief executive officer, Steve manages the association’s operations, works with the leadership to establish the organization’s strategic direction and oversees IWLA’s government affairs efforts. He is the primary liaison to the IWLA Board of Directors.
Jay D. Strother, Vice President
Jay works with IWLA leaders and staff to focus, maintain and promote the IWLA brand to those audiences and to the 3PL-buying public (shippers). He oversees the marketing, web and electronic communication, education and meeting staff members and creates campaigns for IWLA events and directives.
Jennifer actively identifies and recruits new warehouse and partner members for the organization. Her background in industrial engineering and project management allow her great understanding of the warehouse environment. In addition, she works with the IWLA New Member Recruitment & Orientation Committee to ensure members get the most from the IWLA experience.
Hank Vaughan, Director, Education & Meetings
Hank oversees IWLA educational offerings (IWLA Economics of Warehousing & 3PL Sales Course; IWLA Essentials of Warehousing Course; IWLA Warehouse Legal Practice Symposium; IWLA Safety & Risk Conference; IWLA Technology & Operations Solutions for Warehousing), including the association’s specialized events. He is the staff contact for the educational aspects of the IWLA Convention & Expo as well as the Warehouse Logistics Professional (WLP) program.
Liz Whitney, Director Emeritus (Jan. 3, 2020), Education & Meetings
Liz oversees IWLA educational offerings (IWLA Economics of Warehousing & 3PL Sales Course; IWLA Essentials of Warehousing Course; IWLA Warehouse Legal Practice Symposium; IWLA Safety & Risk Conference; IWLA Technology & Operations Solutions for Warehousing), including the association’s specialized events. Sheresa McClain, Director of Administration & Human Resources
Sheresa oversees the general administration and personnel aspects of the association. This includes the daily/monthly distribution of funds, reconciliations and maintenance of all bank accounts, maintenance of the personnel records, maintenance of payroll records and related documents and is the liaison between the association and the vendors with respect to the employee benefit programs.
Michele Schueler, Marketing & Public Relations Manager
Michele manages branding and communication messaging for all e-communications, website, social media, and marketing collateral. She is the primary media contact for trade and consumer media outlets and responsible for IWLA public relations initiatives and branding.
Robert Budo, Finance & Accounting Manager
Robert is responsible for the daily accounting activities at IWLA. Generates invoices, payments, and produces the associations financial reports.
Adam Block, Administrative and Government Affairs Coordinator
Adam assists with the implementation and monitoring of IWLA’s government affairs efforts, including member engagement with the IWLA Political Action Committee and legislative events. He oversees the Congressional Contact Program and assists in drafting content for the website and newsletter. He also provides general administrative support to IWLA management team.
Ahmad Alzubi, Database IT Administrator
Ahmad is responsible for database maintenance, reporting on membership, events, and renewal billing. He also provides IT and office support.
Isabel Montoya, Education Curriculum Associate
Isabel works with the Education Director to develop and grow IWLA’s distance learning curriculum. She is the point person in identifying and developing potential partnerships with accredited learning institutions and sister associations to enhance IWLA education offerings.
Uriel Arroyo, Member Engagement Coordinator
Uriel creates a sustainable recruitment pipeline and works directly with the director of membership to retain existing warehouse and partner members. Please direct membership questions including invoices, renewals, new member applications and account changes to Uriel.
Maureen Engelbreit, Office Coordinator
Maureen provides general and administrative support to the association. She is the point of contact for communicating with IWLA general office vendors and serves as IWLA receptionist.

Pat O’Connor, IWLA Washington Representative
Pat provides lobbying services in Washington D.C. He monitors and tracks legislative and regulatory issues, represents the association in coalitions with allied organizations. He sets up and participates in meetings with agency congressional staff, drafts legislative alerts, provides advice and counsel for the IWLA Political Action Committee and assists with planning government relations activities.
IWLA’s retained counsel for the United States, Kevin Philips, Scopelitis, Garvin, Light, Hanson & Feary, P.C., serves as a legal resource for association members, responding to member inquiries regarding customer contracts and warehouse law.
James Manson, IWLA Retained Canada Counsel
IWLA’s retained counsel for Canada, James Manson, Fernandes Hearn LLP Barristers & Solicitors, serves as a legal resource for Canadian association members, responding to member inquiries regarding customer contracts and warehouse law.
Grant works as our meeting planner consultant. This includes assistance with meeting management during many in-person events, facilitation, registration, and IWLA’s live members-only webinars.
Mike Williams, California Chapter Government Affairs Consultant
Michael’s duties include tracking and analyzing California’s policy developments, regulatory filings and legislation as to their impact on our industry. He coordinates with IWLA to develop and maintain a network of active members for statewide grassroots advocacy.
