IWLA to Focus on Developing Warehouse Leaders
Association Plans Emerging Leaders Program During IWLA Convention
Feb. 10, 2015 (DES PLAINES, Ill.) –IWLA, the resource for warehouse logistics, announces a renewed focus on the industry’s future through a formal Emerging Leaders Program. The International Warehouse Logistics Association will unveil its plans during a March 9 kick-off meeting during the IWLA Convention & Expo at the Westin Savannah Harbor Resort.
“IWLA’s rich history and continuing relevance would not be possible without strong leadership,” says IWLA Vice Chairman of the Board Rob Doyle, CWLP, who is vice president business development at Commercial Warehousing based in Winter Haven, Fla. “The IWLA Emerging Leaders program develops and cultivates the next generation of leaders, helping them grow professionally. These same leadership skills ensure a bright future for the association and the industry.”
Doyle and IWLA Board Member Frank Anderson, vice president of RBW Logistics, will lead this introductory session. Attendees will have an opportunity to:
- network with each other;
- identify changing needs of emerging leaders in warehouse logistics; and
- develop goals and objectives for what will become a committee in 2015.
Doyle knows the benefits of the program first-hand: He was one of first to participate in IWLA’s initial iteration of the program. “The IWLA Emerging Leaders Program forever changed the course of my professional life. As IWLA’s incoming chairman of the board, my participation in that program opened the door for many career advancements and leadership opportunities that I never would have imagined,” Doyle says.
The program stands to benefit the association’s future as well. “A vital part of the association’s success rests in our future leaders. We want to build a strong network of professionals in IWLA to address the needs of this growing population of our membership and the future direction of the association,” Doyle says.
Are you a young warehousing professional who wants to build a career and help ensure the future success of your company? Are you a warehousing executive who sees promise in one of your young professionals? IWLA invites young warehouse logistics professionals to accelerate their career and make a difference in the warehouse logistics industry for years to come.
Join IWLA’s emerging leaders on Monday, March 9 at 3:45 p.m., at the Westin Savannah Resort in Savannah, Ga. There is still time to register for the March 8-10 2015 IWLA Convention & Expo . View the agenda and the convention highlights.
