IWLA and NACD Sign Memorandum of Understanding
Dec. 8, 2016 (DES PLAINES, Ill.) –The International Warehouse Logistics Association, the resource for warehouse logistics, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the National Association of Chemical Distributors pledging to work toward three main goals: increase cooperation on issues impacting the supply chain; increase mutual awareness of membership issues; and examine ways to expand the services offered by each organization.
“By improving cooperation between IWLA and NACD, we can enhance value and safety throughout the chemical industry supply chain,” said Steve DeHaan, president & CEO of IWLA. “This MOU demonstrates the high level of commitment we have to working with NACD, and will provide a higher level of information, knowledge and service to our members.”
Both organizations agreed to exchange memberships and registrations to each group’s annual meeting or trade show, share access to membership directories and open regular communications with each other relating to advocacy, regulatory issues and other areas of mutual interest.
“NACD and IWLA share many of the same economic and regulatory challenges and opportunities in today’s environment,” said Eric R. Byer, president of NACD. “This MOU allows chemical distributors and handlers to come together to work toward our mutual goals.”
