President Donald Trump laid out his plans for major tax reform Sept. 27 in Indianapolis. Former IWLA Chairman Mark DeFabis, CEO of IDS, was in the audience of 400 businessmen and women.
The president put forward his plan for significant tax reform - which will affect businesses both large and small and middle income tax payers. Pat O'conner helped interrupt the plan, he said "the plan reduces the corporate tax rate to 20% and limits the maximum tax rate for small and family-owned businesses to 25% - significantly lower than the top rate that these businesses pay today".
DeFabis received a congressional invitation to the address, proof positive of the growing influence of IWLA government affairs efforts.
"Over the last few years the active participation of many members in the IWLA Government Affairs Committee has ensured that the association will have a voice at the table on important issues such as tax reform, infrastructure funding, and regulatory matters," DeFabis says. "We need more members to participate the IWLA Government Affairs Committee to ensure that our success continues."
