Steve Hernández, partner at the Barnes & Thornburg law firm (an IWLA partner), will provide an overview of new California laws impacting warehousing for 2019. He will also evaluate wage-and-hour considerations, current events and best practices for your business and workforce. Additionally, he will discuss the legal impact to California of the Dynamex and Cheesecake Factory decisions regarding independent contractors and NLRB actions overturning key Obama-era cases.
About the Speaker
Hernández is a partner in firm’s Labor and Employment Law Department. He has extensive experience litigating class action matters and brings four years of experience as an attorney with Region 21 of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to his practice. While at the NLRB, he investigated unfair labor practice, litigated unfair labor practice complaints, conducted union representation elections, and presided over NLRB proceedings as a hearing officer.
