Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) Tour, Wednesday, March 13

Limited Space

The Port of Savannah is the largest single-terminal container facility of its kind in North America. IWLA has arranged for a unique tour of the port led by GPA executive director, Griff Lynch.

Come for the IWLA Convention and stay for this Wednesday-morning tour, March 13. The tour is limited in size and IWLA will accept registrations in the order received. If necessary, there will be a waiting list. The tour is initially open only to full IWLA Convention registrants. You can opt in when you register for the convention or you can add a tour after you’ve completed your registration.

Ports on both U.S. coasts play a vital role in the supply chain. Through November 2018, the Port of Savannah has handled 4 million twenty-foot-equivalent container units, up from 3.72 million over the same period last year.

"Cargo expansion related to growth in inland markets, as well as increased demand right here in the U.S. Southeast have shifted the global logistics arena in Savannah's favor, with more port users choosing to serve their customers via Georgia's deepwater terminals," Lynch says.

About Georgia Ports: Since 1945, Georgia’s ports have served as magnets for international trade and investment. Georgia’s deepwater ports in Savannah and Brunswick, together with inland barge operations in Bainbridge and Columbus, are Georgia’s gateways to the world. They are the critical conduits through which raw materials and finished products flow to and from destinations around the globe.
