Program Agenda & Faculty

ISR, 2016 SIP & the Impact to Logistics Facilities - Janice Rutherford, San Bernardino 2nd District Supervisor

Supervisor Janice Rutherford will discuss developments at the SCAQMD with regard to ISRs for logistics facilities. Additionally, she will tackle ISR plans from CARB for potential adoption into the 2016 SIP and new emerging developments of the day.

Public Health, Socioeconomics & Logistics - John Husing, PH.D., Economics & Politics, Inc.

John Husing will discuss Public Health, Socioeconomics & Logistics in the Inland Empire. The public health/social justice issue is one of poverty remediation. Logistics as the major job creator in SoCal can now be viewed as a remedy to the greatest public issue: poverty. Husing’s approach is intriguing because it comes at the SCAQMD on a foundational basis of what is best for the public health in SoCal, and uses research to bolster that position.

Jobs, Carson Moratorium, Education & Port Concerns - Patrick O'Donnell, California State Assemblymember, 70th District

Assemblymember Patrick O’Donnell will provide an update on the Carson Logistics Moratorium and discuss his role on the Transportation and Port Select Committees, focusing on initiatives he has spearheaded to provide jobs in logistics. Learn his predictions and future plans for job growth and infrastructure improvements in the 70th Assembly District.

California Legislative Landscape & Logistics Considerations -James Jack, Capitol Strategic Advisors, LLC

James Jack will discuss state and local legislative job killers and pending regulations that will directly impact your business. And, he will offer some direct steps to take on how to navigate the battlefield.
