International Trade Council Chairman: Linda Childs Hothem, Pacific American Services Co-Chairman: The Council represents the interests of customs/bonded warehousing and Foreign Trade Zone operators as well as members operating in the import/export arena. The group actively supports Association efforts with federal customs/bonded agencies. Emerging Leaders Council Chairman: Jason Flood, Flood Distribution Co-Chairman: The Emerging Leaders Council (ELC) is dedicated to developing future leaders in the logistics outsourcing industry and the Association. The Council provides a forum to discuss emerging issues, provides opportunities to share ideas and best practices, and strengthens relationships among emerging leaders throughout the industry. ELC Calendar Canadian Council Chairman: Brenda Lemieux, Kuehne + Nagel Co-Chairman: The Council represents the interests of Canadian member companies and communicates industry issues and governmental actions that need to be addressed by IWLA. The council also provides a forum to share resources and information about the Canadian warehousing and 3PL industry. Information Technology Council Chairman: Tom Single, Saddle Creek Corporation Co-Chairman: The Council communicates member needs to information technology providers who serve the third-party warehousing, transportation and logistics industry. They also educate members about the latest IT tools that can best serve their customers. Real Estate Council Chairman: To Be Determined Co-Chairman: The Council advises IWLA members regarding real estate issues and its role in the outsourced logistics industry. It also advises members on accepted real estate practices. Rail Council Chairman: Paul Delp, Landsale Warehouse and Gary Minardi, San Jose Distribution Services Co-Chairman: The Rail Council addresses rail-specific issues with the ultimate goal of helping members grow their rail-based business. Short-term, the group’s focus is to eliminate unfair demurrage charges through “actual placement” agreements with Class I rail carriers.
